SEO activity is broadly divided into two important factors one is on-page element and the second one is off-page optimization. So, before moving into detail let’s first understand what is on-page optimization?

On-page optimization is the process of optimizing the website by making changes in the website as per the instruction of the website.

    a) Content should be unique and informative.

    a) Using Keywords in your URL.
    b) Try to reduce the length of your URL to 100 Characters.
    c) Based on category and sub category create the URL. The name of the category should be properly used in the URL.
    For example if I am in a business of online fashion store and having category of shoes and its child category formal shoes.


    In such case we should have following URL structure:
    http://www.abc.com/shoes/formal-shoes
    d) Always use a dash operator (-) to separate the two words. The search engine treats it as a separator. In above URL we are using (-) operator to guide search engine crawler to treat formal and shoes as a separate word.
    You can target keywords using the same techniques as explained above.
    e) Never use _ (Underscore) in the URL.
    f) URL should be in small case. Never user capital letter or words in the URL.

  • 3. Image Optimization: Search engine crawler or spider cannot read the image. To make it understandable by crawler/spider you need to specify the “Alt” tag for every images.
    What other thing you need to keep in mind while optimizing the images:
    a) Image must have proper name
    b) Always try have reduce the name of an image 2-3 words.
    c) Make use of keywords in images Alt attribute or file name. But don’t make keywords stuffing. Image name should be related to the image.
