Grievance Cell University Must Have

Recently Delhi High Court ordered that all universities must have “Grievances Redressal Cell” within four months. Every university need to appoint an “Ombudsman” in every university and grievance redressal committee in every college. Every university and college need to follow this instruction.

To sort out the grievances raised by student and college staff, Delhi High Court on Friday decided that every university must have “Grievance Redressal” committee. Delhi High Court directed the University of Grant Commission to set up “Grievance Redressal” within four months.

The Delhi High Court also directed the UCG that if any university or college not meeting the requirement of Ombudsman and Grievance redressal committee within specified time. Then, necessary action would be taken.
Who will be the Ombudsman?

  • The Ombudsman shall be the part-time officer.
  • Appointed for the period of 3 years.
  • Should not be more than 70 years.

Grievance Redressal Committee

College can appoint any members in the GRC.

Committee members are responsible to sort out all the grievances.
